UPDATE 11:11am – 421 at Watauga/Wilkes line is back open per incoming reports and scanner dispatch. Champion Fire (Wilkes County) will be on the scene for sometime.
UPDATE Thurs Dec 26 10:19am – 421 at Parkway Bridge is shut down due to tractor-trailer wreck on Wilkes Mountain.
Traffic Alert Thursday Dec 26, 2019 9:16am – Receiving reports of tractor-trailer wreck heading off the mountain on 421 at the runaway truck ramps near the Watauga/Wilkes line. Expect possible delays in that area.
Disregard last status – per scanner dispatches the operator of motorcycle has left the scene and spotted on Mast Gap after wrecking again. Traffic Alert Thurs Dec 19 4:57pm – Motorcycle Wreck – area of 321 near Mast Gap Road in Sugar Grove. Expect delays.

Traffic Alert Wed Dec 18 9:15am – Wrecks – Two accidents scenes in the area of Vulcan Materials on 105. Officers & Fire in that area directing traffic.
Reminder – Town of Boone’s Annual Christmas Parade is today at 11:00 AM. Roads around downtown will close just before that. Parade guests are encouraged to arrive downtown early to avoid delays.
