TRAFFIC ALERT – work to start on 105 bridge. “In general, lane closures will be permitted on N.C. 105, Broadstone Road and Old Tweetsie Road from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Monday through Thursday. Only nightly lane closures will be allowed on weekends.” More information at this link.

Traffic Alert Wednesday, January 12 – Due to water main break near EarthFare in Boone, traffic will be routed right onto College Street and then left onto East Howard Street. All west bound traffic will be routed right onto Councill Street then left onto Cherry Drive.

Update 6:08pm – road is back open. Traffic Alert Thursday January 6 5:27pm – Tractor-trailer stuck on George’s Gap, about the 4000 block, in between Blueberry Lane and just above Bob Campbell so there is no way around it, 321 is the only alternate route if you are traveling beyond that point of George’s Gap.

Traffic Alert Thursday January 6 8:36am – Wreck – area of 7881 highway 105 South in Foscoe (near Twin Rivers). Expect delays.

Monday January 3, 2022 11:34am – Downed power line in the area of 105 & Twin Rivers in Foscoe. Expect traffic delays in that area.

Monday January 3, 2022 From Boone Police, “VERY slick and dangerous road conditions in the entire areas of Watauga, Avery and Ashe Counties. Please do not travel unless necessary. If you need to, please drive with extreme caution.Thank you and be safe.”

Traffic Alert Monday January 3, 2022 – Travel conditions have not improved county wide as of 8:25am. Many roads still closed due to high volume of wrecks. Travel is not advised.

Traffic Alert Monday January 3, 2022 7:37am – Travel conditions are bad countywide, numerous wrecks due to the snowstorm. Several of the main routes into Boone are closed. Travel is not advised at this time.
