105 bridge work at Broadstone Road – In general, lane closures will be permitted on N.C. 105, Broadstone Road and Old Tweetsie Road from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Monday through Thursday. Only nightly lane closures will be allowed on weekends. More information at this link.

Road closures related to a major infrastructure project are set to begin May 1 in a 75-mile section of the Blue Ridge Parkway from milepost 229.6, just north of Doughton Park, to milepost 305.1, near Grandfather Mountain.  Find out more information at this link.



BREAKING 7:58 pm – US HWY 321 is now open according to the Blowing Rock Police Department.

To assist with safety during the construction of the Watauga County Parking Deck, North Water Street, from Queen Street to King Street, will have temporary lane closures and delays today, April 17th.

Furthermore, the eastbound and westbound lanes of Queen Street, beginning at approximately 247 Queen Street (Queen Street Apartments) and ending at N. Water Street will be closed until further notice due to the construction of the Watauga County Parking Deck. Motorists are advised to take alternate routes during this time.

On Thursday, April 18th beginning at 7:00 pm and ending at 5:00 am, Deerfield Road will be closed at 381 Deerfield Road due to a sewer line repair. Both entrances to the Watauga Medical Center will be accessible. Motorists are advised to drive with caution in this area during the length of the repair. No services are expected to be affected. ***4pm – Deerfield Road is back open*** Friday April 12 2:04pm – Deerfield Road is currently closed near the intersection of Camp Rock and Deerfield due to a downed power line. Crews are on the scene and working to resolve the issue, no exact time frame for when the road will reopen.

UPDATE From Blowing Rock Police – US 321 North and South bound lanes are currently closed just south of Rock Rd in Blowing Rock due to a rockslide. NCDOT is in route with equipment please be patient and utilize BlackBerry Rd to travel around this area.

TRAFFIC ALERT/Road Closed Thursday April 11, 2024 – Due to an early morning structure fire The connection of Broadstone Road and 194 South are closed until 7 am this morning. There is no travel to or from Boone this way. A different route will need to be used until after 7am.

Wednesday April 3, 5:48pm – Wreck – area of 105 near the old WHS entrance. Expect delays.

Friday March 8 10:45am – multi car wreck – area of 421 near Hardin Road in Deep Gap. Detours are in place. Expect major delays.

Traffic Alert – Thursday, December 14, 6:35 pm – Stuck semi-truck in the S curve on 194/Valle Mountain.

Traffic Alert – Monday, Dec 11 11:20am – Wreck – area of 421 at Vilas Post Office – Expect delays.

Monday December 11 – State Farm Road will be reduced to one lane beginning at Ivy Terrace Drive and ending at Racquet Road due to a water leak. It is uncertain if water service will be affected at this time. Start Farm Road will be reduced to one lane for several hours. Motorists are advised to take alternate routes at this time.
