The National Weather Service in Blacksburg has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for…
East Central Ashe County in northwestern North Carolina…
* Until 830 PM EDT Friday.
* At 220 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of
rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.
HAZARD…Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE…Radar.
IMPACT…Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Wagoner… Othello…
Mount Jefferson…
This includes the following streams and drainages…
Roten Creek, Obids Creek, Beaver Creek, Peak Creek, Naked Creek,
Dog Creek and South Fork New River.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
When it is safe to do so, please send your reports of flooding,
including mudslides or flooded roads, to the National Weather
