Blue Ridge Parkway Park Rangers are reminding visitors not to walk on frozen pond and lakes.
In Facebook post on the Blue Ridge Parkway page: “This is a Public Service Announcement from your friendly neighborhood Park Rangers: Your selfie or Instagram post is NEVER as important as your personal safety! Walking on frozen ponds and lakes is a VERY dangerous and prohibited practice on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Please respect these regulations and keep your safety and the safety of first responders in mind during these frigid winter days. Thank You.”
