BOONE, N.C. – The Watauga Arts Council invites the community to celebrate local artists at its upcoming Arts Placement Artist Reception on November 6, from 5-7PM at Explore Boone. This free event offers an opportunity to meet participating artists, view locally created artwork, and enjoy light refreshments during November’s First Friday Art Crawl.

The reception will highlight the work of Katie Boyette, John Morehead, Kathy Graham, Aaron Johnson, Becca Nenow, and Vicki Skywark, whose artwork is currently on display across various Arts Placement partners, including Explore Boone, Boone Chamber of Commerce, and the Seby Jones Cancer Center.

The Watauga Arts Council’s Arts Placement Program brings original artwork by local artists into businesses and community spaces throughout the High Country. Through rotating exhibitions, the program increases exposure for participating artists while making local art more accessible to the public.

The reception is free and open to all, and community members are encouraged to stop by, meet some of the artists, and enjoy light refreshments while celebrating the region’s creative community.
