…An area of heavy Rain showers will impact portions of Alleghany
and Ashe Counties in northwestern North Carolina, Pulaski,Giles,
Bland, Carroll, Wythe and Grayson Counties in southwestern
Virginia and the City of Galax through 530 AM EDT…
At 435 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking an area of heavy
rain showers extending from Bluefield to Wytheville to Jefferson.
Movement was east at 30 mph.
HAZARD…Heavy rainfall and localized flooding.
SOURCE…Radar indicated.
IMPACT…Ponding of water on roadways and flooding of poor drainage
and low-lying areas.

Locally heavy rain will quickly reduce visibility and result in
ponding of water on roadways, standing water in low lying areas, and

Drivers are urged to slow down and use extra caution to avoid
hydroplaning.
