At approximately 7:50 am on Saturday, March 14th, Watauga County Communications received a call regarding a structure fire at the 600 block of Slabtown Rd in Zionville.
Responding units found a small shed fully engulfed and a total loss, with 3 animals deceased due to smoke inhalation.
The Fire Marshal would like to remind you that when using heat lamps, please keep them away from the reach of animals in a stable location, unable to be knocked over.
Responding units included Zionville, Beaver Dam, Cove Creek, and Trade Fire Departments as well as Watauga County EMS, Watauga County Rescue, Watauga County Fire Marshal’s Office, and Blue Ridge Energy.
