A ribbon-cutting ceremony took place on Tuesday at Hospitality House of Northwest N.C. to celebrate the opening of the new Kids PlaySpace, and the presentation of Rowan Tait's Eagle Scout Award. The Eagle Scout Award is the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouts of America program.

Donors for #GivingTuesday in 2024 helped Rowan raise almost $11,000, according to Todd Carter, Chief Development Director for Hospitality House. The newly christened Kids PlaySpace is unlike any other, Cartrer added.

On average, there are fifteen children residing at the Hospitality House Brook Hollow Complex as their families work with Service Coordinators to secure stable, independent housing.

“Last year we moved 247 people out of homelessness (our most successful year ever) with 30% of them being children. Rowan's Kids PlaySpace is a life changer for our kids.”, Carter also noted.
