Quiet Givers and Avery County EMS Partner to Provide Home Safety Equipment for Vulnerable Residents

NEWLAND, NC – A timely connection between a local non-profit and Avery County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is set to improve the lives of Avery residents. Quiet Givers has announced a donation of durable medical equipment to Avery County EMS, establishing a specialized inventory for use in the county’s Community Paramedicine program.

The partnership was born from a fortunate alignment of timing and community need. Last fall, Quiet Givers received a significant donation of high-quality medical equipment, ranging from wheelchairs and mobility aids to a hospital bed and lift. In January, the organization learned that Avery County EMS was actively looking to build a local supply of equipment to assist residents who struggle with home safety and recovery.

“Quiet Givers was created to fill the gaps in our community that other programs might miss,” said Angela Loos, Executive Director of Quiet Givers. “When we heard Avery EMS was looking for these exact items, we knew it was the perfect match. We had the equipment, and they have the professional expertise to get it to the people who truly need it.”

The equipment will be utilized by Jared Stafford, Avery County’s Community Paramedic. In his role, Stafford works directly with residents in their homes, assisting with medication compliance, chronic disease management, and post-hospitalization care. This inventory will serve as a professional resource for Stafford to use during his patient visits.

By putting these resources directly into the hands of the Community Paramedicine program, Quiet Givers ensures that the equipment is not only used but managed by a professional who understands the specific health challenges of the Avery County community.
