MOUNTAIN CITY, TN – A man has been charged with a “Peeping Tom” offense after allegedly observing individuals through their windows at a local motel, according to the Mountain City TN Police Department.
On January 14, 2026, officers responded to a call at the motel regarding a complaint that a male subject was allegedly observing individuals through their windows.
As a result of the investigation, Terry Sutherland was taken into custody. He was charged with Observation Without Consent, commonly referred to as Tennessee's “Peeping Tom” law.
Sutherland was transported to the Johnson County Jail without further incident.
