Tim Walker of Boone will be recognized as a Silver Beaver Award recipient at the Scouting America Old Hickory Council's Awards Reception on March 25, 2026.

The Silver Beaver Award is the council-level distinguished service award in Scouting America, presented to registered adult leaders who have made significant impacts on youth through exceptional community service.

Walker, a dedicated Scouting volunteer, will be celebrated alongside other outstanding community members at the event, which will be held at the Pilot View Center in Winston-Salem. The evening will include a 5:30 pm gather and social with dinner, followed by awards presentations at 6:15 pm.

The Old Hickory Council noted that Walker is their third and final honoree for 2026, selecting him from among volunteers across their service region. The award recognizes those who implement the Scouting program and perform community service through hard work, self-sacrifice, and dedication.

All Scouts, Scout families, volunteers, and community members are invited to attend the celebration and honor Walker's contributions to youth development in the community.
