The National Weather Service has released official snowfall totals from the winter storm that impacted the High Country on December 7-9, 2025. Multiple locations in Watauga County reported 7 inches of snow, with significant accumulations across Ashe and Avery Counties as well.
Watauga County
Watauga County saw the highest snowfall totals in the region, with three locations reporting 7.0 inches:

- 2 E Lovill – 7.0 inches (6:50 PM, 12/08)
- 1 NNW Beech Mountain – 6.5 inches (5:00 PM, 12/08)
- Boone – 5.6 inches (9:00 PM, 12/08)
- 2 SW Valle Crucis – 5.5 inches (4:00 PM, 12/08)
- Blowing Rock 2.2 NE – 5.3 inches (6:45 AM, 12/09)
- Boone 3.8 ENE – 4.8 inches (7:00 AM, 12/09)

Ashe County recorded significant snowfall, with the highest total of 6.5 inches near West Jefferson:
