Jefferson, N.C. – Sheriff B. Phil Howell announces the arrest of 63-year-old Barry Gale Dishman of Crumpler, NC, and 58-year-old Jeffery Allen Dishman of Jefferson, NC, for Trafficking in Methamphetamine.
On June 25th, 2025, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol stopped a vehicle in the Glendale Springs area for exceeding the posted speed limit. K9 Deputy Lee Johnson and Deputy Jake Shepherd were patrolling the area and stopped to assist. K9 Condor performed an open-air sniff of the vehicle with two positive alerts. Deputies searched the driver, Barry Dishman, and found drug paraphernalia. Inside the vehicle, they recovered 28.8 grams of a white crystal substance, suspected to be Methamphetamine. All evidence was processed and sent to the NCSBI Crime Lab for further testing.
Barry and Jeffery were arrested and transported to the Ashe County Detention Center without further incident.
Barry Gale Dishman, 63 years old of Crumpler, was placed under a $200,000 secured bond. His charges include:
- 2 Counts Felony Traffick in Methamphetamine
- Felony Possession of Methamphetamine
- Possess Drug Paraphernalia
Jeffery Allen Dishman, a 58-year-old of Jefferson, was placed under a $200,000 secured bond. His charges include:
- 2 Counts Felony Traffick in Methamphetamine
- Felony Possession of Methamphetamine
