Overall December 2014 was pretty quiet weather wise. A late warmup produced a tied temperature record for December 27, but the month will be remembered more for earthquakes than snowflakes.

Two earthquakes on December 14 & 15 were felt in the area bringing the total number to 6 for the year.

Since 1980 the month ranked 15th warmest for average high, 6th warmest for average low, 8th warmest for average temperature and 13th driest.

Low – 20.84 on Monday Dec 15
Peak Wind Gust – 49 mph on Thursday Dec 25 at 7:35am
Highest Rainfall Amount – 1.02 on Wednesday Dec 24

Greatest one day temperature swing – Saturday December 27 from 30.2 to 65.12 (difference of 34.92 degrees).

Number of days with highs in the 30s – 8, 40s – 10 , 50s – 11, 60s – 2.
