Overall December 2014 was pretty quiet weather wise. A late warmup produced a tied temperature record for December 27, but the month will be remembered more for earthquakes than snowflakes.
Two earthquakes on December 14 & 15 were felt in the area bringing the total number to 6 for the year.
Since 1980 the month ranked 15th warmest for average high, 6th warmest for average low, 8th warmest for average temperature and 13th driest.
