Creston Man Arrested on Trafficking

Creston, N.C. – Sheriff. B. Phil Howell announces the arrest of 33-year-old Justin Allen Musgrove of Creston, N.C., on 2 counts of Trafficking Methamphetamine.

On October 20th, 2025, Ashe County Sheriff's Office Deputy Chase Baldwin was conducting a routine patrol in the West Jefferson area when he noticed a motorcycle in violation of the law. Baldwin initiated a traffic stop and found the driver identified as Justin Musgrove. Ashe County 911 Dispatch Center confirmed that Musgrove was on active probation and had a suspended license.

After searching the suspect, Deputy Baldwin recovered a clear plastic baggie containing a large amount of a crystal substance, later identified as Methamphetamine. The substance will be sent to the NCSBI Lab for further testing.

The amount of Methamphetamine seized was approximately 2 ounces.

Musgrove was placed under arrest and transported to the Ashe County Detention Center without further incident.

Justin Allen Musgrove, age 33, of Creston, was placed under a $150,000 secured bond. His charges include:
