Caught Hiding with Charges from Wilkes County

Lansing, N.C. – Sheriff B Phil Howell announces the arrest of 43-year-old Kenneth Kirkland Pittman of Lansing, NC, for failure to appear in court on 12 drug charges from Wilkes County.

On July 19th, 2025, Ashe County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Daniel Cox and Deputy Elijah Williams were patrolling the Lansing area, attempting to locate Pittman for his outstanding warrants. They
located Pittman at his residence, but Pittman retreated further into his residence. Sheriff deputies entered the home to find Pittman hiding in the closet. Deputies placed him under arrest and transported him to the Ashe County Detention Center without further incident.

Kenneth Kirkland Pittman, 43, of Lansing, was arrested and placed under a $75,000
secured bond from Wilkes County charges and an additional $7,500 secured bond from Ashe
County.

His charges include:
• 2 Counts Failure to Appear (Wilkes County)

  • Resisting Public Officer
