During last week's Boone Town Council meeting, the Boone Town Council passed two Resolutions of Appreciation for two very special members of our Police Force: Chief Andy LeBeau and Sergeant Scott Mackler. Both Chief LeBeau and Sergeant Mackler will be retiring from the Town of Boone, effective January 1st, 2025, with a combined 46 years of service.

Chief LeBeau began his journey with the Town of Boone in December 2002 as a Police Officer. He began rising through the ranks, being promoted to Senior Police Officer in 2004, Master Police Officer in 2005, Sergeant in 2007, Lieutenant in 2008, and Captain in 2010. Moving to the role of Police Operations Captain in 2013, Chief LeBeau was appointed as Interim Police Chief in May 2020 and became Police Chief in July 2020. Chief LeBeau has served the Boone Community excellently during his tenure, and while we are sad to see him go, we are so excited to see what retirement has in store for him!

Sergeant Mackler began his journey with the Town of Boone in the early 2000s as well, hired on as a Police Officer in November 2000. Promoted to Senior Police Officer in July 2003 and then to Master Police Officer in July 2006, Sergeant Mackler began serving the Town of Boone in his current position starting in February 2009. Sergeant Mackler will leave big shoes to fill, and we will miss him terribly. However, we are so excited to see what retirement has in store for him as well!

Congrats again, Chief LeBeau and Sergeant Mackler!
