The Ashe County Sheriff's Office would like to warn the county of a scam floating around the area.
Many residents have already received a text message, like the one below, that appears to be from SECU Bank. There is a link attached to the text asking for banking information. DO NOT click or enter your account information. This is a scam trying to receive your banking information to withdraw funds from your account.
