West Jefferson, N.C. – Sheriff B Phil Howell announces the arrest of two females after recovering a stolen vehicle. Lisa Marie Harmon, 43 years old, and Morgan Lynn Colvard, 40 years old, were arrested and charged with several drug charges. On April 23rd, 2025, Deputy Lee Johnson and Deputy Brandon Wingler were notified of a possible stolen vehicle at Lisa Harmon's home. Deputies knew Lisa had outstanding warrants for her arrest and had been hiding for several weeks. After issuing a search warrant, deputies entered the house and found the two females hiding in the attic. Deputies seized the stolen vehicle along with several items of drug paraphernalia.
Both Females were transported to the Ashe County Detention Center. Lisa had outstanding warrants from Ashe and Watauga Counties for possession of Methamphetamine and failure to return a motor vehicle after rental.
The Ashe County Detention Center utilizes a Tek84 Intercept X-Ray Body Scanner on all inmates entering the facility. After the scan, Detention Officers discovered an unknown substance hidden on her person. A confirmed weight of 29.2 grams of a crystalline substance was found, later to be identified as Methamphetamine. All drugs have been sent to the NCSBI lab for further analysis. Additional charges may be pending.
Lisa Marie Harmon, age 43, of West Jefferson, was arrested and later released under a $385,000 secured bond. Her charges include:
- Felony 3 Counts PWIMSD ( Possession of a controlled substance with the intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver )
- Felony Trafficking in Methamphetamine
- • Felony Possession of Controlled Substance Jail Premises
- Felony Possession of Stolen Goods
- Possess Drug Paraphernalia
- Larceny Merchant Product Code Fraud
- Fail Return Hired MV
Morgan Lynn Colvard, age 40 of West Jefferson, was arrested and later released under a $5,000 secured bond. Her charge includes:
- Possess Drug Paraphernalia
