It's a busy weekend in the High Country, and motorist are advised to plan accordingly and allow extra time. On Saturday morning the 17th annual Blood, Sweat & Gears will take place. The event starts at 7:30am at Valle Crucis School, and is expected to draw over 1300 riders. ***Blood Sweat and Gears has cancelled the 100 mile ride according to a scanner dispatch on Friday afternoon to local fire departments that were helping with the event.***
On Saturday night the annual Appalachian Summer Festival Outdoor Fireworks Concert takes place at Kidd Brewer Stadium. The concert, with Kasey Musgraves, starts at 7:30pm.
Then on Sunday the annual Singing On The Mountain takes place on Grandfather Mountain. The event begins at 8:30am.
