Watauga High School was placed on lockdown Friday morning due to an online threat of violence at the school, according to a tweet by the school system.
Officials and law enforcement placed the school
At 10:12am the school system announced the all clear and added, “Rumors of a threat of violence were investigated and now dispelled. School is now operating as normal. Thank you for your patience.”
Boone Police officers will remain at the school the rest of the day.
Officials at WHS are investigating an online threat of violence at the school and have placed the school in a lock down as a precaution while law enforcement investigates. Extra officers are at school as a precaution. Will update as more information is available.
