Motorists on 321 through Blowing Rock are encouraged to remain alert for the most recent temporary traffic shift/new traffic pattern activated late Wednesday afternoon. The shift/pattern is from just south of Cone Orchard Lane to Blackberry Road. Paving and pavement marking operations were completed in the area Wednesday evening (January 25) and traffic is now traveling along sections of the new alignment.
This temporary shift/new traffic pattern is expected to remain in place over the next several weeks as various work along this section of the project continues including grading, paving, curb & gutter and guardrail installation. Motorists are encouraged to slow down when traveling to/through this area for the first time in order to become familiar with the new pattern.
