A number of reports into our Facebook and Twitter outlets were asking about “booms” in the area on Saturday night. A fireworks display, shot from the old Watauga High School location, by a local business and in conjunction with the Blood Sweat & Gears bike ride was the reason that many residents were caught a bit off guard.
Residents in Boone, Valle Crucis, Vilas and into Fleetwood reporting hearing the booms.
