Sections of the High Country were impacted by power outages on Sunday due to high winds.
The National Weather Service issued a High Wind Warning for both Sunday and the first half of Monday. A peak wind gust of 55 mph was recorded at the Watauga Medical Center reporting station at 11:15 am.
