Due to heavy rains over the weekend the main gate to Powderhorn Mountain in Triplett is closed due to the road washing out.
Jeff Eason, with The Blowing Rocket Newspaper, passes along word that people coming from Boone will have to take a right on Wes Randall Rd. in Triplett and then the next left on Brightwood and take the back way into Powderhorn.
Power was also knocked out to half of the homes in Powderhorn during the storms Eason adds.
