Sunday, June 30th – Zionville Fire Department's annual parade through the district for Independence Day, starting at 3 PM.

The route as follows.

Start at Station 1

Travel Old 421 toward N Fork Rd

Turn Right onto N Fork Rd

Travel N Fork Rd to Union Baptist Church

Turn Around at Union Baptist Church and travel back down N Fork Rd to Old 421

Turn Right onto Old 421

Travel Old 421 to Silverstone Rd

Turn Left onto Silverstone Rd

Travel Silverstone Rd to Camp Joy Rd

Turn Left onto Camp Joy Rd

Travel Camp Joy Rd to Odes Wilson Rd

Turn Right onto Odes Wilson Rd

Thursday, July 4th Events

Thursday, July 4th – The Star-Spangled Banner Elk Fourth of July celebration includes one of the most popular (and fun!) Fourth of July parades in North Carolina, followed by the annual Party in the Park and Duck Race.

The day begins at 11 a.m. with the Main Street parade starting at Lees-McRae College and ends in Tate-Evans Town Park, where the Party in the Park and Duck Race begin at approximately 12 noon.

The Party in the Park includes food vendors, old-fashioned games and inflatables. Try your luck in the famed duck race, with hundreds of rubber ducks floating toward the finish line. Proceeds from the Duck Race go to the local Kiwanis Club.

Thursday, July 4th Town of Boone – The 2024 Boone 4th of July parade takes place on Thursday, July 4 at 11:00 am. Find your favorite spot along King Street in Downtown Boone and take in the sights as floats, marchers, and performers show off their patriotic reds, whites, and blues. Afterwards, stop by the Jones House lawn for free watermelon, cake, and lemonade.

The annual Town of Boone fireworks display will take place on the evening of Thursday, July 4 at Clawson-Burnley Park at the Boone Greenway. The community is invited to come view the fireworks, which will begin around dusk.

Thursday, July 4th – Beech Mountain Parks and Recreation Department is asking you to join them at the Sledding Hill for a Summer Water Party featuring a Giant Slip-N-Slide and water guns (this event is weather dependent). For more information call the Buckeye Recreation Center at 828-387-3003.

Saturday, July 6 – Blowing Rock Parks & Recreation.

This year’s parade is scheduled for Saturday, July 6th at 10 AM.

Schedule as follows:

11 am to 1pm – – Surefire Bluegrass Band

1:00pm- Park Games

1:30 pm – 3 pm – Shelby Rae Moore

3:30 pm – 7:30 pm – Soulution
