High Country Visitor Center Closed to Walk-in’s Until April 1

BLOWING ROCK, NC, March 16, 2020— Due to the state mandated closure of all NC Welcome Centers because of Covid-19 until April 1st, the High Country Host Regional Visitor Center will be closed to walk in visitors as well.  However, visitor center travel counselors will still be available to answer phone calls from 9-5, Monday through Saturday and 9-3 on Sunday at 828.264.1299.

Visitors can stop by and pick up regional travel information at our “Take One” box located by the front door of the visitor center. The box is stocked with regional, state and BRP maps, BRP hiking trails info, as well as the High Country Host vacation planner for a list of area lodging.

The visitor center will also be providing a daily updated list of regional tourism attraction openings and closures on the website MountainsofNC.com

The High Country Host Regional Visitor Center is located between Boone and Blowing Rock by the Blue Ridge Parkway entrance on US Hwy 321 South. The non-profit regional tourism organization provides travel information for Alleghany, Ashe, Avery, Watauga, Wilkes counties.
