Friday fire on Watson Drive under investigation

Multiple departments responded to a Friday afternoon fire on Watson Drive.

The fire, at 662 Watson Drive, involved a structure and approximately one acre of woods, Watauga County Fire Marshal Shane Garland tells WataugaOnline.com. First arriving crews found the structure fully involved.

No injuries were reported. There was extensive damage to the structure, according to Garland, and the investigation is continuing.

The fire was dispatched out at 12:15 pm with fire departments from Stewart Simmons, Blowing Rock, and Boone responding. Watauga Medics, Watauga Fire Marshal’s Office, and NC Forest Service also responded to the scene.
