BOONE, N.C. (AP) — The Town of Boone will host a community-wide clean-up day Sept. 27, inviting residents to help beautify the town through volunteer efforts.

Citizens can participate by cleaning around their own property or by volunteering for assigned locations within town limits. Those seeking assignments can visit the Public Works Center at 321 East King St. between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m.

The town will provide cleaning supplies including gloves and bags. Refreshments and fellowship will be available at the Public Works Center from noon to 1 p.m.

For residents unable to participate on Sept. 27, the town is offering a “Litter Sweep” period from Sept. 13-27, allowing flexibility for property cleanup during that timeframe.

Town residents will receive one free curbside pickup of collected debris, including household items, bulk materials and yard waste. Residents can schedule pickup by calling the Public Works Department at (828) 268-6230.

Shannon Isaacs serves as program coordinator for the event. Additional information is available by contacting the Public Works Department.
