Monday December 14
Due to rainy weather, wet ground conditions and limited visibility, no construction operations impacting traffic are currently scheduled on 321 in Blowing Rock, with other construction operations on a limited schedule as well.
Tuesday December 15
No flagging operations are currently scheduled on 321 in Blowing Rock today but construction operations may be occurring at the ABC Store and at Sunny Rock. Impacts at those locations are expected to minimal during this work since both locations have multiple driveways for use as alternate access points during the construction operations. Work is also scheduled to begin in the southern driveway of the Holiday Inn. This driveway has been closed for several weeks due to retaining wall construction and is being graded and prepped so that paving operations can begin as early as today. This work will not impact any traffic, including Holiday Inn guests. No other traffic impacts are currently scheduled today.
Wednesday December 16
Flagging operations are currently scheduled on 321 in Blowing Rock today at Pinnacle Drive/Canyons Restaurant. Sunset Drive will be closed today for paving. Crews will be on site to assist motorists traveling in this area. Access to all businesses and homes along Sunset will be available. Paving operations are also scheduled in the area of Holiday Inn and Woodlands BBQ. Impacts at those locations are expected to minimal during this work since all locations have multiple driveways for use as alternate access points during the construction operations. No other traffic impacts are currently scheduled today.
Thursday December 17
Due to rainy weather, wet ground conditions and reduced visibility, limited construction operations and no flagging are currently scheduled today on 321 in Blowing Rock.
Friday December 18
Traffic impacts scheduled today on 321 in Blowing Rock include various driveway construction operations and possible driveway tie-in work at the following locations: United Community Bank, Papa Joe's, Woodlands BBQ, and the Holiday Inn. While work at these locations will impact motorists attempting to enter these businesses, all of these locations have multiple driveways that are currently accessible. Crews will be on-site to assist motorists attempting to enter these locations. Motorists are encouraged to SLOW DOWN and STAY ALERT for these access locations as well as construction crews and equipment working at these areas of the project!! Morning delays are expected to be minimal; however, conflicts between construction operations and motorists attempting to gain access to these areas will increase as work progresses into the lunch hour and throughout the remainder of the day. This work may also result in delays on 321.
