Avery County government officials announced on Wednesday afternoon that effective at 5pm, those lodging facilities that do short-term rentals be suspended until April, 18, 2020.
The facilities, for example, are air bed and breakfasts, campgrounds, timeshares units, condos, motels, hotels and other rental programs or places where leases or rentals are for less than one month in duration.
Exemptions are allowed for work-related stays, emergency facilities and homeless shelters.
