Dear Members of the App State Community,
As we move into the next chapter for the university, I have made some changes to the organizational structure of our university. This will mean some units will change divisions, while others will remain the same. We believe these changes will streamline our operations and maximize our ability to support student success.
An overview of my direct reports and the areas reporting to them under the reorganization is below:
- The division of the Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor, currently led by Acting Provost Neva Specht, will include:
- Academic Affairs
- Enrollment Management
- The Student Affairs departments that support students and student success
- Arts Engagement and Cultural Resources
- The division of the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice Chancellor, under the leadership of J.J. Brown, will include:
- App State Police
- Emergency Management
- Facilities Management
- Human Resources
- Operations (Campus Dining, Campus Store, Parking and Transportation, Student Housing, University Post Office)
- University Communications
- Departments in the Division of Institutional Integrity and General Counsel, which is currently led by Interim Director Brad Trahan, will remain in their current area.
- The division of Information Technology, under the leadership of Chief Information Officer Keith Werner, will remain as is with no changes.
- The division of Advancement, currently under the leadership of Interim Vice Chancellor Will Sears, will remain as is with no changes.
- The division of Athletics, under the leadership of Director of Athletics Doug Gillin, will remain as is with no changes.
- The departments currently led by Interim Chief Financial Officer John Adams will remain in their current area.
- The Chancellor’s Office staff, including Chancellor Communications, Chancellor Events, and External Affairs and Community Relations, will be led by the Chief of Staff, Dawn Antonucci.
I thank the leaders who came before and those who are continuing to serve for their love of App State and their support of the well-being of our students, faculty, staff and community.
I recognize that for many, this shift will require some significant adjustments, and your leadership team will be working side-by-side with you to ensure these changes are as smooth as possible as we work to create a structure that will provide the best services and support for our university community. If you have questions related to work, I encourage you to reach out to your supervisor, and please know that we appreciate your patience as we move through all of the details of implementing the changes.
