16th Annual Boone BOO! To Take Place October 31

The 16th annual Downtown Boone BOO! a family-friendly Halloween event will take place on Monday, October 31, 2016 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.

The Watauga County Public Library will kick off the celebration at 4:00 p.m., providing arts & crafts and entertainment. Local singer and songwriter, Tommy Smith, will be performing his silly and fun Halloween tunes for children of all ages. At 4:30 p.m., The Jones House Cultural and Community Center will be transformed into a silly and spooky house with lots of tricks and treats. Outside on the lawn, you can enjoy bounce houses, games, and give-a-ways. Members of the Appalachian State Basketball and Soccer teams will also be at the Jones House for a meet and greet. This is a great opportunity for your child to pick up a free poster, schedule, and meet their favorite players.

From 5:00-6:00 p.m., participants are invited to Trick–or–Treat at participating downtown businesses.

King Street (from Appalachian to Waters Street) will be closed from 4:30- 6:00 p.m. to help ensure pedestrian safety and allow for safe and fun trick-or-treating.

All Boone BOO! participants are ask to be mindful and considerate of the younger participants when planning their costumes to help ensure a fun, family-friendly event for all. The Downtown Boone Development Association, Jones House Cultural and Community Center, Town of Boone, and Watauga County Public Library are delighted to host this annual celebration, and hope you will join for an afternoon of Halloween fun.
