Heavy rains overnight lead to flooding in Watauga County and across the High Country. Our facebook and twitter pages received reports of flooding in many locations, including the ASU campus.
Some of those reports include “Flooding on Rocky Creek Road. Quit raining before it washed away the road.”, “They called in the grounds crew at ASU at 4 am because several buildings were flooded. Duncan and RAnkin were among them”. At 3:30am fire department officials reported flooding along highway 321 in Boone, according to the National Weather Service report. We also recieved several reports of hail including this one via twitter “absolutely pouring and hailing at Mountaineer village. Woke the roommates up too”.
The first three pictures below were sent in from Aldridge Road in Foscoe by Pamela Dewar. The final photo was sent in via twitter and was taken behind Boone Creek Apartments last night.
