Monday April 11
Construction operations continue today on 321 in Blowing Rock with occasional flagging at various locations throughout the entire project from Blackberry Rd to Little Springs Rd for numerous construction operations including fine grading for sidewalk preparation, excavation along slopes, and pavement repair work.
3:25pm – Expect delays on Boone Mountain/421 in Vilas due to accident involving dump truck and other vehicle(s). Accident is near Brooks Plumbing.
Expect extra traffic at the corner of Deerfield and State Farm today at 5 pm for the groundbreaking ceremony for the new ASU Beaver School for Health Sciences.
4:44pm – Cove Creek Fire has cleared the scene of wreck on Boone Mtn/421.
5:35pm – Boone PD is requesting for motorists to avoid the State Farm Rd and Deerfield Rd area. A protest by AppState students (same one that created traffic issues in Boone on Thursday) is creating traffic delays in the area.
6pm – Traffic should start to return to normal in the area of State Farm Rd and Deerfield Rd, according to scanner dispatches. Boone Police advise that the groundbreaking and protest have completed in that area.
Tuesday April 12
Construction operations continue on 321 in Blowing Rock on a limited basis due to rainy weather – no flagging operations are currently scheduled for today.
12:44pm – Accident on State Farm by 105 extension. Expect delays.
3:30pm – Accident at Howard's Creek Rd & Jake Miller Rd, Fire department on scene directing traffic.
Wednesday April 13
Various construction operations continue today on 321 in Blowing Rock with numerous flagging operations, traffic shifts and lane closures from Possum Hollow Rd to Church St. This area will be extremely congested – motorists are cautioned to SLOW DOWN, BE PREPARED TO STOP AND EXPECT DELAYS in this area of the project.
Thursday April 14
Various construction operations continue today on 321 in Blowing Rock with numerous flagging operations, traffic shifts and lane closures from Possum Hollow Rd to Church St.
Friday April 15
5:09am – Accident 321 N near intersection with Mast Gap Rd. Road closed to one lane due to down power line.
Minimal traffic impacts as various construction operations continue today on 321 in Blowing Rock. Various traffic shifts patterns are in place from Ransom St to Possum Hollow but no flagging is currently scheduled through this area.
