It's been a dry July, not quite record setting dry, but drier than the last two July's. Rainfall totals on Wednesday top totals for any day for the entire month at both Watauga Medical Center, and the official reporting Boone1SE station.
The unofficial measurement at Watauga Medical Center came in at 1.16 inches for the day, compared to the next highest totals of .63 on Monday July 13 and Friday July 3. Boone1SE recorded .91, compared to the next highest total of .89 on Monday July 13.
Rain fall totals for the month will not be totally calculated for a few more days, but as of July 28 officially Boone had recorded 4.08 inches compared to 5.36 in 2014 and the recorded setting 19.44 in 2013.
