A water leak repair is scheduled to take place on Highway 105 from Poplar Hill Drive to Highway 105 Bypass on Thursday night, Feb. 15, beginning at 6 pm.
Jack Harmon, Superintendent with Town of Boone Public Works-Utility Division, tells WataugaOnline.com, “We are addressing a water leak on a line going to the Super 8 Hotel and are unsure if it is before the control valve. If the leak is found after the control valve the water main will not be shut down.”
“All potentially affected areas have been notified for the possibility of the water main shut down.” Harmon adds.
There are no lane closures expected on 105 expected. It's unclear how long the job will take until crews dig it out and see what the problems are. Harmon added, “I can say we will not leave the job site until it is repaired.”
