Boone United Methodist Church will hold its 40th Annual Fall Bazaar Friday, Sept. 18, from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, Sept. 19, from 7:30 to 11 a.m., at 471 New Market Blvd. in Boone, directly behind the New Market Shopping Center.
Often called the unofficial kickoff to autumn in the High Country, the Bazaar has grown into one of the area's largest upcycling events, drawing thousands of visitors in search of hidden treasures, bargains, good food and fellowship.
Shoppers can find used furniture, clothing, seasonal items, books, puzzles, DVDs and other yard-sale finds, along with homemade jams, jellies and baked goods.
New this year, three food trucks will be on site: East Boone Pizza Food Truck and Taqueria la Monarca's taco and dessert trucks.
The Bazaar is one of Boone UMC's main annual events, involving more than 500 volunteers. Proceeds benefit local missions and building improvements that allow the church to better serve the community. Electronic payments will be accepted.
