The Johnson County, Tennessee, Sheriff's Office has provided an update on the shooting investigation from last week in the Neva community, announcing charges against a Neva Community man.
According to the Sheriff's Office, 51-year-old Kevin Phillips of the Neva Community has been charged with Aggravated Domestic Assault and Abuse of an Elderly Adult in connection with the incident. Phillips was given a $50,000 bond.
Phillips is currently being held in the Watauga County Jail on unrelated charges following the incident. The Johnson County Sheriff's Office has placed a hold on Phillips and says he will be taken into Johnson County custody following his release from Watauga County.
The investigation remains ongoing, and the Sheriff's Office says additional information may be released as it becomes available.
