Watauga Humane Society to undergo flooring renovations and repairs in dog kennels

Last Updated on June 17, 2024 11:54 am

The Watauga Humane Society will undergo flooring renovations and repairs in dog kennels from June 28th through July 1st, in order to stay in compliance with the Animal Welfare Section of the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services regulations.

During the repair, the Adoption Center will be closed to the public from Friday, June 28th through Monday, July 1st. The repair will be done over four days and needs half of the kennels to be empty which means half of the dog population will need to be adopted out or go into foster care so the work can be done.

In addition to the Father’s Day special from the 18th to the 22nd of June ($35 adoption Fee), there will be waiving of fees for all dogs if adopted between the 25, 26th and 27th of June. Cat adoption fees will be reduced to 50%.

We are also asking those who are not able to adopt to consider fostering. Fostering is completely free; we will provide everything you need. We could not do our lifesaving work without your help and we need our community while we navigate a complicated couple of weeks.
