Watauga County has issued a State of Emergency (SOE) for Winter Storm Diego effective 2pm today (Saturday December 8, 2018).
Taylor Marsh, Watauga County Emergency Managment Coordinator, says that the SOE currently has NO restrictions, it is merely being issued to meet the FEMA requirements of having a SOE in place in case we receive damages from this storm.
Marsh adds that his office and other local officials will continue to monitor conditions when the storm arrives and if further restrictions are needed they will communicate those as needed.
