Several fire departments in Watauga County are celebrating the arrival of new emergency vehicles to bolster their firefighting and rescue capabilities. These enhancements are part of ongoing efforts to improve response times and safety for residents.

Cove Creek Fire recently completed final inspections on its new Toyne Pumper and Pumper Tanker/Tender, marking significant upgrades in its fleet. Meanwhile, Zionville Volunteer Fire Department proudly announced that Engine 2 is now officially in service. The truck, received in July, underwent extensive training and mounting before being put into operation. The department expressed gratitude to Ferrara for the build and Auto Image for the decals, highlighting the community's continued investment in their firefighting resources.

In addition to these achievements, other departments are also expanding their fleets. Foscoe Volunteer Fire Department welcomed two new tankers, while Meat Camp added a new engine to its roster. Blowing Rock introduced a new UTV, and Stewart Simmons is currently working on a new brush truck, which is expected to be operational soon.

These new vehicles and equipment demonstrate Watauga County’s commitment to strengthening its fire services, ensuring better preparedness and safety for all residents.
