WATAUGA COUNTY, NC – Watauga County emergency responders worked for approximately an hour Saturday morning to extinguish a vehicle fire that threatened a nearby structure.
At approximately 10:15 AM on Saturday, December 27, 2025, Watauga County Communications received a call reporting a vehicle fire in front of a house in the 300 block of New River Heights Road.
Multiple departments responded to the scene, including:

Watauga County EMS
Watauga County Rescue
Watauga County Fire Marshal's Office

The fire was brought under control after approximately one hour. Both the vehicle and the adjacent structure sustained damage in the incident. However, due to the quick response of the fire departments, the structure suffered only moderate damages.
No information was immediately available regarding injuries or the cause of the fire.
