The mild December, and late year, temperatures continue as Boone nearly broke into the record setting range on Thursday. Unofficially, Boone hit 59 degrees at the Watauga Medical Center reporting station at 3:15pm. For official temperature records, data from the Boone 1SE station is used and those temperatures are typically reported the following morning. WataugaRoads.com will update as that information is available on Friday morning. The average official high temperature for Boone through December 10 has been 50.88 degrees.
