On Monday, May 26, 2025, Boone Police Patrol Officers assisted the North Carolina State Highway Patrol with a traffic stop in the parking lot of United Muffler in Boone. During the stop, a Deputy with the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office and his K-9 were requested. The K-9 alerted to the presence of narcotics in the stopped vehicle. A search of the vehicle and passengers yielded 52 grams of suspected Methamphetamine and paraphernalia used in the packaging and distribution of narcotics.
30-year-old Destiny Amber Salmons and 36-year-old Christopher Wayne Ellison, both of Boone were placed under arrest.
Salmons was charged with Felony Trafficking in Methamphetamine and Felony Possession with Intent to Manufacture Sell or Distribute Methamphetamine. Salmons was issued a court date of June 30, 2025, and placed in the custody of the Avery County Detention Center without bond.
Ellison was charged with Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Ellison was issued a court date of June 30, 2025, and placed in the custody of the Watauga County Detention Center under a $1000.00 secured bond.
