Wednesday July 27 9:37am -A fallen tree was the culprit leading to power outages across a portion of the county on Tuesday night. Blue Ridge Electric posted on their Facebook page that they tree had fell across all three phases of power lines on Hopewell Church Road in the Meat Camp community. There were no other reported outages as thunderstorms moved across the northern section of the county.

According to both social media reports, and the Blue Ridge Electric outage map, some residents in Watauga and Ashe are encountering power outages tonight.
As of 9:23pm, 582 outages in Watauga and 146 in Ashe are reported. As of this post it is not confirmed if thunderstorms are playing a role in the outages, but somewhat intense storms are moving through the area.
