The Town of Beech Mountain is no longer under a boil water advisory, according to a Code Red Alert call and a press release on the town's Facebook page.
Based on laboratory analysis of today’s water samples boiling water for human consumption is no longer necessary, the release goes on to say.
The Town now has reduced to Level 3 Water Restrictions. Showers, washing dishes and general water use is now permitted.
Water use should stay at about 20% less than you would use normally. The release says that updates will take place each day midday until all water restrictions are over. We are no longer in a state of emergency.

The town was under a state of emergency and Level 5 water restrictions because of the malfunction of a valve leading to the loss of water from the reservoir.
