Temperatures Reach Above 75 Degrees In Boone For First Time In 2019

High temperatures in Boone were the warmest on Tuesday since October 2018, but didn't quite reach the high mark of 77.7 degrees on October 7th, 2018 but came very close.

The Watauga Medical Center Reporting Station in the afternoon topped out at 76.3 degrees and was consistently at 76 from 3:15 pm through at least 5:15 pm.

It's not record-setting territory, as temperatures have reached 70 or above by April 10th every year since 2005 with the exception of 2016, which took until April 17th of that year to hit 71.

Overall for the month, it is tied for the 17th warmest April since 1980 with an average high of 49.8 degrees.

The year to date total shows tied for 10th place for warmest years since 1980, with an average temperature at 39.1 degrees.
