On Sunday, May 25, 2025, Boone Police Patrol Officers located a stolen Ford sport utility vehicle traveling on Blowing Rock Road. The vehicle was stopped in the parking lot of Applebee’s and the driver fled on foot. After a foot pursuit, 27-year-old Wyatt Lane Clark of Newland was placed under arrest.
Clark was charged with Felony Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Felony Possession of Methamphetamine, Felony Financial Card Theft, Misdemeanor Possession of Schedule III Narcotics, Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor Driving While License Revoked and Misdemeanor Resisting an Officer. Clark was issued a court date of June 30, 2025, and placed in the custody of the Watauga County Detention Center without bond.
